Weekend Visitors

On Friday Bill's parents came down to see the boys. From here on out I know visitors aren't here to see us. It's all about the babies now, which we were warned about from countless other parents. Though Dallas and John were kind enough to bring us their old dinette set. We were just about to buy a used pedestal table the other week, nearly identical to theirs, when they offered to give us theirs. Score!! The boys will be in their booster seats before long and we will want to keep an eye on them while we're in the kitchen (which wouldn't be possible if they were in the dining room). For now though we just feed them their solids in either a bouncy seat or a rocker chair. And Grandma Dallas had a lot of fun feeding Colin and Brandon this weekend.

Here is Dallas feeding Brandon:

And here is Colin after having some fun with his oatmeal and pears:

Colin hammed it up a lot this weekend:

Brandon and Colin aren't the only ones who like the bouncy seat. We left the bouncy seat on top of the table that Dallas and John brought us, and before we knew it Chester had gotten very cozy in it:

We often times find Chester curled up in the new mac daddy double stroller we recently bought too. We don't call him Little Bastard for nothing! :-p Speaking of the stroller we got a Baby Jogger City Classic double stroller and that thing rocks! It has awesome canopies to block the sun from any angle and it has shocks so the boys get a nice, smooth ride, and it is super easy to push. It looks HUGE, but it is under 30" wide so it fits through standard 32" doors, which means we can use it not only on the trail, but also while out shopping. Last week we took the boys for a quick walk in the neighborhood in it and they did really good (ie. no fussing or crying).

This last picture is of Brandon nestled on his daddy's chest. You'll notice that Bill's goatee has some gray in it (sorry honey, I couldn't crop it without cropping out Brandon's forehead! :) The gray hairs really didn't start popping up much until the first of this year - when we found out we were expecting twins. No lie. Coincidence? I think not!

Speaking of Brandon, he loooves to suck on his fists now. That is what he does to soothe himself, and we're all for it. Those pacifiers will just fall out and sometimes frustrate him, but he can nibble on his fingers any ole time! In fact, I'm surprised he doesn't have hickeys all over his hands. Last night Bill and I were in the living room watching a movie when we heard Brandon grunting and stirring on the monitor. We held our breathes and hoped he would go back to sleep. Then we heard him feverishly sucking on his hands, which was the cutest thing! And yes, he was able to soothe himself back to sleep a couple of times by sucking on his hands. Yay!

Oh, and we weighed the boys this weekend and both weighed 13 lbs. They're doing great! They still sometimes get the "evening spa treatment" (swaddled up in a rocker in our dark bathroom with whirlpool jets running), but I'm hoping they outgrow that colicky behavior soon. Real soon!
